Academics Plus, L.C. offers consulting services for those
interested in operating their own educational business utilizing
a proven, research-based model with exceptional academic results.
This model provides high-quality, individualized, prescriptive
academic instruction to K through 12th grade students in reading,
math, algebra, study skills and SAT/ACT preparation.
The Academics Plus instructional model consists of:
- A bright, tastefully decorated, carpeted, furnished,
and fully equipped facility with all of the instructional
materials, computers, and supplies necessary to provide
high-quality supplemental academic instruction;
- A fully staffed learning center of teachers, professionals,
and paraprofessionals employed by the business owner and
trained to achieve significant and measurable improvement
of the reading and math achievement of elementary, middle,
and high school students;
- The establishment and maintenance of close relationships
with the parents and/or caregivers of each of its students
in order to influence the development or enhancement of
a positive learning environment in the child’s home;
and,
- The establishment and maintenance of a close relationship
with each student’s classroom teacher and other appropriate
school personnel in order to assure that the student demonstrates
his or her improved reading and/or math skills in the classroom.
On average, students enrolled in our retail center using
the Academics Plus programs improve their reading achievement
by over one (1) full grade level and math achievement by over
two (2) full grade levels in 48 hours of instruction. The
Academics Plus programs feature:
- Thorough diagnostic assessments of every student;
- Instructional systems and methods proven to produce significant
and measurable achievement gains with both low and average
performing students;
- An individualized learning program for each student that
is customized to fit his or her learning style and monitored
in a manner to assure that each student receives the precise
instructional content delivered in the optimal learning
modality at the correct level of difficulty each and every
hour of instruction;
- A maximum 3:1 student-to-teacher ratio;
- Extensive communication with parents or caregivers and
also with classroom teachers to assure that every student
is improving both classroom performance and achievement.
