Academics Plus is a partner for the LEA, bringing a system that is a proven process with a direct and significant impact upon students' reading achievement.

First, relationships with the LEA are formed allowing Academics Plus to be a catalyst for organization and student success. Then Academics Plus remodels a school classroom and turns it into an exciting and highly motivating learning lab. New instructional materials and equipment are put into place.

Thorough diagnostic assessments are performed and individualized learning programs are developed for each student. These are shared with the classroom teachers to assure consistency with the classroom instructional program.

Intensive remediation of specific, requisite skills is provided in an enjoyable, highly motivating environment. Under-achieving students look forward to their instructional sessions each week (two one hour sessions per week) and begin to experience greater academic success. Classroom teachers begin to notice increased effort and improved performance in the classroom. Their expectations are raised along with their diagnostic knowledge of each student and classroom modification to support these students as they grow toward grade-level competency.

Frequent parent and teacher conferences and written progress reports document each student's improvement. Finally, student performance on standardized achievement tests improves dramatically school-wide scores increase.
